What is a Top-Level-Domain?
The highest hierarchical level is the Top-Level-Domain. In the example the Top-Level-Domain is ‚.com’. A distinction is drawn between Country-Domains (e.g. ‚.de’ for Germany, ‚.at’ for Austria or ‚.fr’ for France) and Generic-Domains
(e.g. ‚.com’, ‚.org’ or ‚.info’).
